About Learning Integrations

Laurie Chuba is the founder of Learning Integrations located in Northern Virginia. She received her degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Illinois Medical Center, specializing in pediatrics. Prior to moving to Virginia, she served as the Director of Occupational Therapy at Illinois State University Laboratory School where she provided evaluation and treatment of children in early childhood through high school programs, as well as supervising OT and Special Education clinical work for university students.  

Laurie has provided OT services in many settings including hospitals, schools, and pediatric clinics.  In 2005 she established Learning Integrations, a functional Occupational Therapy practice providing support for both children and their families.  Learning Integrations not only addresses traditional areas of OT, but also reading and other academics, parent coaching, mindfulness, nutrition, and practical life skill training.  

Laurie is a veteran home schooler, and provides academic support struggling learners, and is a homeschool conference speaker.  She is a member of several professional organizations, including AOTA and AMTA, and is trained in many therapeutic techniques including certification in The Listening Program,  Moyers Learning Ears, Handwriting Without Tears, and The Alert Program for Self Regulation. Continuing educational training has focused in the areas of mindfulness, social skills, academic support, sensory integration, and autism related issues.
